Privacy Notice

What Horizon collects, why, who sees it, and how to have it deleted.

This notice covers Horizon: the Horizon phone app and horizon.robotensor.ai, run by Robotensor (“we”, “us”). Horizon is the data project of the Attune subnet (Bittensor SN58). Questions or requests: [email protected] (opens in a new tab).

What we collect

  • Account: your email address, and the name and profile picture your sign-in provider shares when you sign in with Google or Discord. If you sign in with an email code, only your email.
  • Robot sessions: the movements you send from your phone to the simulated robot, and the resulting robot states, video and task results.
  • Recordings: the video and motion data you record with the app (your hands and your surroundings), the labels you add, and the checks run on them.
  • Your phone: its model, operating system, app version, sensor capabilities, and a hardware attestation from Apple or Google that shows it runs the genuine app. This is how we keep rewards fair.
  • Wallet and payouts: the Bittensor wallet address you link, your points, balance, payouts and withdrawals.
  • Consents: what you agreed to, which version, when, and from which IP address.
  • Service logs: IP addresses, request times and errors, kept to run and secure the service.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell your email or contact details.

How we use it

  • To run your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
  • To check contributions, score them, and calculate and pay rewards.
  • To detect duplicated, fabricated or manipulated work, and agents or bots.
  • To build robot-learning datasets from accepted robot sessions and recordings, which we use ourselves and license to others (see below).
  • To email you about your account: sign-in codes, wallet changes, payouts and decisions on your work.

Datasets

Accepted robot sessions and recordings become part of datasets that we use to train robots and license to companies and researchers. Faces and text are blurred or redacted before any recording leaves the platform in a dataset; if redaction fails, the dataset is not released. Datasets never include your name or email. Before your first robot session or recording, the app shows you what is recorded and how it is used, and asks for your consent.

Who else sees it

  • Service providers that host and run Horizon for us: cloud hosting and storage (Cloudflare), email delivery, and Apple and Google for sign-in and phone attestation. They process data only to provide their service to us.
  • Reviewers we authorize may look at submitted work to check its quality.
  • Dataset licensees receive redacted datasets, as described above.
  • The public: the weekly rewards page lists each contributor under an anonymous label, with a shortened wallet address once one is linked, and their points, share and reward. It never shows names or emails. Transfers to your wallet are Bittensor transactions, which anyone can see on the chain.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

Inside the platform, your email is kept only in the account system; every other part sees an anonymous user id.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. When you close it, your robot sessions and recordings are deleted everywhere, not just hidden. We keep only what we must for accounting, fraud prevention and the law: payout and ledger records, and the consents you gave. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule. Datasets already released before you close your account cannot be recalled, and they hold only redacted data without your name or email.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete everything: close your account in the app (You › Account › Close account) or on the web (Account › Your data).
  • Choose what to record: recording starts only when you start it, and you review what you submit.
  • Access, correction, a copy, or an objection: write to [email protected] (opens in a new tab). Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Security

Uploads go over encrypted connections into private storage. Phones prove they run the genuine app before their work counts, and access to contributor data is limited to the people who need it.

Children

Horizon is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use it, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

When this notice changes, we update the date below. If a change affects how your data is used, we tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
