Your balance and withdrawals
Your Robotensor balance, linking a wallet, and getting your alpha out.
You get a Robotensor balance when you sign in and pair your phone. Every payout you earn is added to it. You don’t need a crypto wallet until you want to take your alpha out.
Your balance, this week’s points and your payouts are in Wallet, on the phone and at horizon.robotensor.ai. You can withdraw, link a wallet or change it from either.
Link your wallet
- Get a wallet (if you have none)Install SubWallet from the App Store (opens in a new tab) or Google Play (opens in a new tab), open it and tap Create a new account. Write the 12 words it shows on paper and keep them offline: they are the only way back into your wallet, and nobody can recover them, including us. To see your TAO and SN58 alpha in SubWallet, turn on Bittensor in Settings › Manage networks. The Robotensor app walks you through this under Wallet › Link a wallet › No wallet yet?. Nova Wallet also works on the phone; Talisman, Taostats Wallet, TaoApp Wallet and Polkadot.js work on a computer.
- Which account to useAny new account in these wallets is a Bittensor wallet (what
btclicalls a coldkey). Use the Polkadot-type account: on Bittensor its address starts with 5 (the same key shows as 1… on Polkadot; both work). Ethereum accounts (0x…) can’t receive alpha, so they aren’t offered. - Link it in the appIn the Robotensor app, open Wallet and press Withdraw (or Payout wallet › Change), then Link with SubWallet. Confirm with Face ID or your fingerprint, approve the connection in SubWallet, then sign the message. Signing proves the wallet is yours. It costs nothing and moves no money.
- Or link on the webSign in at horizon.robotensor.ai (opens in a new tab) in a browser with Talisman or SubWallet installed, open Wallet and press Link a wallet. On a phone without the app, open the same page in SubWallet’s or Nova’s built-in browser. People who use
btclican sign the message there instead (under Advanced). - Payouts startIf it is your first wallet and you haven’t earned anything yet, payouts go there right away. A changed wallet, or a first one linked after you earned, waits 72 hours. We email you every time, with a This wasn’t me link that undoes the change and signs everyone out.
Get your alpha out
- Withdraw any amount, anytime: from the Wallet on your phone or the web, send part or all of your balance to your linked wallet. What you don’t withdraw stays in your balance as SN58 alpha.
- Automatic payouts (off unless you turn them on): each weekly payout is sent to your wallet as it lands.
- The minimum is 1 α. Smaller amounts stay in your balance and roll over.
- Network fee: each transfer pays Bittensor’s own fee for it, taken out of the amount you send. Wallet shows the chain’s quote and what you’ll receive before you confirm. You pay exactly what the chain charges: if it differs from the quote by a little, the difference comes back to (or out of) your balance, and the arrival notice says what it was.
- While the fee would be more than a tenth of a withdrawal (when alpha’s price is low), the minimum rises so it never is. If Robotensor can’t read the fee from the chain for a moment, withdrawals wait a minute instead of guessing.
- A transfer that can’t be made (the chain refuses it) comes back to your balance with its fee, and we tell you. One that takes over a day is marked delayed while we look.
Where your alpha is
Payouts arrive as SN58 alpha, staked on the Robotensor validator. Talisman and SubWallet show it as an SN58 token. While it stays staked it earns staking rewards, which are added to your stake automatically. The validator keeps a fee from those rewards, shown on your payout page.
Your balance is shown in alpha with an estimate in TAO and dollars. The estimate comes from the SN58 pool and changes all the time. To turn alpha into money, see Cash out.
Coming: cash-out to a card
Cash-out to USDC or a card is coming, through a licensed partner. An identity check will be required then.
When payouts pause
An open fraud case, a restricted account or a blocked phone pauses payouts until it is resolved. Work that is reversed is taken off your later points.
