How points work

What earns points, how work is checked, and how points become alpha.

Quality matters more than quantity. Accepted work earns points, and your points decide your share of each weekly payout.

How points become alpha

  1. Earn pointsEverything you do earns points: robot control runs and recordings alike.
  2. Points countRobot control points count as soon as the run is verified. Recording points count once the recording is reviewed.
  3. The week closesEvery week (weeks start Monday 00:00 UTC) the contributor vault is split by points: your share of the week’s points is your share of the alpha.
  4. Paid to your balanceYour share lands in your Robotensor balance. See How rewards work.

How each kind of work is checked

  • Robot control: the server re-simulates every run from your phone’s recorded input. If it replays the same, it counts. No human review.
  • Recording: every recording is reviewed with a reason, usually within 48 hours, at most 7 days.

Checks that protect honest work

  1. Your phoneThe phone proves it is a genuine, unmodified device running our app. Practice devices never earn.
  2. Live recordingRecordings upload in linked pieces as you go, with timing rules. A gap or a replay voids the recording.
  3. Automatic checksVideo is compared with the phone’s motion sensors; light, sharpness and hands in view are checked; and every submission is compared with everything already submitted to catch duplicates.
  4. People, when neededA recording the checks are unsure about goes to a reviewer. A rejection always comes with the reason.

What earns nothing

  • Practice.
  • Work made by an agent or a bot.
  • Work from a phone that has not passed hardware attestation, or that has been blocked.
  • Duplicated, recycled, fabricated or manipulated contributions.

If work is reversed later (for example after a fraud check), its points are taken off your later points.
